Congratulations to Stef Bazylkiewicz from International Group on her recently completed outdoor athletics season.
Despite suffering a broken collar bone at the start of the season after hitting a hurdle in training, combined events specialist Stef recovered to pick up five medals at last month’s British Masters Athletics Championships. She then went on to represented Great Britain at the European Masters Athletics Championships in Pescara, Italy.
Competing in the heptathlon, (100 metre hurdles, high jump, shot putt, 200 metre sprint, long jump, javelin and 800 metres) Stef finished fifth with an overall points personal best (PB) as well as PBs in the high jump and javelin.
In the throws pentathlon, (hammer, shot, discus, javelin, and weight throw) Stef also claimed an overall points PB as well as personal bests in the discus and weight throw to finish sixth overall.
She then followed this up with an overall bronze and age group gold at a speed heptathlon event in Basingstoke, completing all first six events within 42 minutes, before taking to the track for the 800 metres final event!
Stef, who currently training with former Olympian Dwayne Chambers, now ranks second in the national masters heptathlon rankings, third for indoor pentathlon, and 10th for throws pentathlon, will next be focussing on the upcoming indoor season.
