The Defence Academy of the United Kingdom is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
We are committed to ensuring everyone can access our website. This includes people with:
- Impaired vision

As well as users with dial-up, older browsers or newer technologies such as smartphones and tablets.

How accessible this website is
Non accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Course Application and Enquiry Forms
We are aware that there are currently some limitations on the Course Application, Course Enquiry and Contact Us forms:
• Some pages have the same title, so the title cannot be used to distinguish the page. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.2 (Page Titled)
• All fieldset elements should be labeled with legend elements. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.2 success criterion 3.3.2 (Labels or Instructions)
• A fieldset element should contain form controls or links. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships)
Disproportionate burden
Our website has some legacy PDFs that would be a disproportionate burden to fix.
PDFs and other documents
Many of our older PDFs and Word documents don’t meet accessibility standards. For example, they may not be structured so they’re accessible to a screen reader. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.2 success criterion 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value). We are working towards making our PDFs and Word documents as accessible as possible.
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
We are working with the third-party supplier to fix issues, audit the site and ensure full compliance.
