About this course
This course will give you a knowledge and understanding of quality assurance within the MOD for the quality practitioner. Successful completion of this course and exam are mandatory requirements of the Government Quality Assurance (GQA) elements of the MOD Quality Practitioner Licensing Scheme.

- understand the roles and activities undertaken by a GQA practitioner
- be able to state the policies and standards that are required for the role and will know where to find sources of advice and guidance
- understand the role and benefits of a Quality Management System (QMS)

This course is part of the quality management suite of courses and has been designed to enhance your understanding in this field. The course is mandated if your intention is to obtain an MOD GQA or comprehensive license.

Before you attend
Before attending this course, students are required to complete the Quality in the MOD and Quality Fundamentals workbooks. These foundation modules form part of the Quality Development Scheme (QDS) and provide the underpinning knowledge required for successful participation on the course. Students are also expected to read JSP 940 Parts 1 and 2 and the GQA Framework document prior to attendance.
During the course, students will need access to JSP 940 Parts 1 and 2, the GQA Framework, and the Knowledge in Defence (KiD) Managing Quality topic area, as these resources will be referenced throughout the training. Applicants should ensure they have sufficient time to complete the mandatory pre-course learning and reading before applying for and attending the course.
