About this course
The Holistic Allies Training course is recommended for all personnel to help foster an inclusive workplace where everyone can optimise their full potential and flourish.
For some, discrimination and exclusive working practices are not based upon an individual's sole protected characteristic, but upon several.
This course aims to provide some tools and techniques to enable you to be an effective ally, irrespective of the protected characteristic and/or underrepresented group they, or you, may belong.
It aims to give you an understanding of the role of an ally, identify some of the actionable protocols to be operationally effective as an ally and understand how this can contribute towards more inclusive and effective working environment.

What you will learn
Insight into your own inclusivity as an ally by introducing some key elements such as:
- understanding your own privilege
- recognising inclusive and exclusive behaviours,
- analysing the importance of being an active and visible ally,
- describe how to amplify underrepresented voices,
- how to work in partnership with people from underrepresented groups
- identify ways in which to implement this learning into your workplace.
How this course will help your career
This course will equip you with the knowledge and skill set to challenge unacceptable and exclusive working behaviours such as bullying, harassment and discrimination. It will also help you to carry out the function of being an effective ally to all groups.

Who can attend this course
- Military
- MOD civil servants
This course is limited to MOD personnel or Locally Employed Civilians (LEC)

Once you have enrolled onto the course, you will be given a list of optional reading to help prepare you for the course and maximise the learning.

There is no formal assessment however, you will be asked questions to check your understanding throughout the course.
