About this course
The Knowledge and Information Management (KIM) Pathway is a series of modules designed and created by Information Capability for personnel in information professional roles.
Through online learning and assessments, the KIM Pathway teaches the basic knowledge and skills required for Information professionals (OR2 to SO3 and CS equivalents) working at a practitioner level. Building upon the successful completion of Module 2 and Module 3 provides you with the additional knowledge and skills to extend your supervisory skillset and prepares you for roles as senior ISO or acting iManager.
It is recommended that you wait a minimum of three months after Module 2 before applying for Module 3 in order to practise the skills learnt.
What you will learn
You will learn/develop:
- how to use record management tools such as Record Management Self-Assessment Questionnaires and user Record Management surveys
- an understanding of the risk management and Information Assurance (IA) processes and responsibilities required to assure a unit's information
- an understanding of the purpose and benefits of maturity models in an organisation
- an understanding of awareness planning, and to describe the 4 key documents required for successful IM in a unit
- an awareness of how to effect positive change in an organisation
How this course will help your career
Information professionals typically work within the iHub and are responsible for information administration activities. They are essential contributors to effective information management.
On Module 3 of the KIM Pathway you will learn significant transferable skills and knowledge such as:
- how to use Maturity Models to assure an organisation's information
- understanding key organisation-level information management documents
- the ability to describe, capture and report Information related risks in support of an organisation's wider information risk management processes

Before you attend
Prior to attendance you need to complete KIM Practitioner DLE Module 0.
There is no requirement to have completed Information Support Assistant (ISO) or Information Support Officer (ISO).
